The Weight (or Wait) of “Thank You”

August 2, 2010

For all of you that are married – you know the weight of the “Thank You” card.

It’s gracious. It’s proper. It’s “brought-upsie” (as some of my Jamaican friends would say!)

And it’s expected.

I’m the type of person that LOVES to write cards. I love to make cards. Love to write long notes in cards. Yet here we are at day 444 of my married life and still no Thank You cards. Not even a glimmer of one.

We designed our own invites. (Mr. Light & I both do graphics work on the side.) But we have yet to sift through our photos, let alone print any of them or design a Thank You card. But with a number of friends getting married (and one couple getting us their Thank You within 2 months of the wedding! Luke & Jess you are simply amazing), the Thank You card has reared its head, demanding to be completed.

Above is our Save the Date. The Thank You design will be loosely based on this format (I think!) Hope you like it – you may be one of the people getting one!
